AP Results CertificateCongratulations to Vacaville High School which was named to the 2023 AP School Honor Roll! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP program is delivering results and broadening access for students.

Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on their ability to increase their school’s college-going culture, to provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximize college readiness. The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Vacaville High School had 42% of seniors who took at least one AP exam during high school, 32% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 7% of seniors who took five or more AP exams!

The CollegeBoard’s research found that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely than their peers to attend college and graduate on time. Even AP Exam scores of 1 or 2 predict better college outcomes than academically similar college students who didn’t take an AP course and exam.

Vacaville High School is one of the few high schools in the region to offer the AP Capstone program. The program includes two courses, AP Seminar and AP Research, taken in a sequence. AP Capstone is a powerful indicator of college readiness on a student's transcript and helps students stand out to colleges in the application process.

“Vacaville High School’s mission is to ensure our graduates are prepared for post-secondary education opportunities. For us, this means challenging our students to take their most rigorous course load. As a former AP teacher myself, I know the power of this program and how valuable these courses can be. I’m very proud of all of our teachers, who are providing this quality education to our students,” shared Vacaville High’s Principal, Adam Wight.
